BORN IN GOIANIA, BRAZIL. MESTRE ANDRE GUSMAO IS A CAPOEIRA MESTRE AND A SECOND DEGREE BLACK BELT UNDER THE LEGENDARY RENZO GRACIE. HE IS A PAN AMERICAN BI BLACK BELT CHAMPION (2009). HE WAS NOT ONLY A STUDENT OF RENZO BUT A TEAM MATE AS WELL. ANDRE GUSMAO WENT ON TO COMPETE ALONG SIDE RENZO AND WON TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE INTERNATIONAL
FIGHT LEAGUE (IFL). FOLLOWING HIS SUCCESS IN THE IFL, MESTRE GUSMOA WENT ON TO FIGHT FOR THE PRESTIGIOUS ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP (UFC). FIGHTING FIGHTERS SUCH AS JON JONES, MAKING ANDRE GUSMAO A UFC VETERAN. IN 2016 MESTRE ANDRE GUSMAO OPENED HIS OWN ACADEMY IN MIAMI TO EXPAND HIS LEGACY BY SHARING HIS KNOWLEDGE IN ALL THE DISCIPLINES COMBINED.

Thiago began his Jiu-Jitsu journey at the age of 14, learning his first moves from a close friend. Shortly after, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he started training under the renowned Professor Soca.
As a blue belt, he joined Gracie Barra, training under Professor Jeferson Moura, who guided him all the way to achieving his black belt.
In 2016, Thiago took an important step in his international career by moving to New York to work with Gregor Gracie, further expanding his technical skills and teaching experience.
Most recently, in 2023, he relocated to Miami, joining the team at the Andre Gusmão Academy, where he continues to share his passion and knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu with new students.
